Mr Mo Akmal is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in Spinal and Orthopaedic Surgery St Mary's Hospital, London, W2 and an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at Imperial College, London, SW7.
He trained at St Mary's Hospital Medical School in London and completed his Orthopaedic Specialist program in London.
He undertook a Spinal Surgery Clinical Fellowship in Oxford, UK at the John Radcliffe Hospital for Trauma and The Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre for elective surgery.
Mr Akmal has also trained in Spinal surgery at The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, The University College Hospital and the Royal London Hospital.
He now works as a Consultant Orthopaedic Spinal Surgeon based at St Mary's University Teaching Hospital in Paddington, London for NHS work and Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth, St Johns Wood, London for private work.
His main interests are the treatment of painful conditions of the spine. He is an integral part of The Brain and Spine Unit at The Princess Grace Hospital in London. His practice includes Degenerative disease, Trauma, Infection, Scoliosis and Tumours.
Mr Akmal performs Cervical and Lumbar Disc Replacement Surgery, Microsurgical and Minimally Invasive Procedures and has access to a full team of practitioners that specialise in Core Stability, Neural Dynamisation and Functional Restoration programmes.
